What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Finch Air Conditioning & Heating is here with a few of the most common air conditioning problems in La Porte.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner operating but there isn’t cool air blowing, you may need to have your refrigerant levels checked. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Finch Air Conditioning & Heating and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan may not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity can cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is restricted. If you can verify these issues, you may be able to pinpoint the problem; if not, give Finch Air Conditioning & Heating a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering your thermostat. It sounds ridiculous but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your A/C cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause huge cooling problems. Another thing that could cause your lack of cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a typical issue when homes are constructed. Finch Air Conditioning & Heating will come out and perform an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your troubles.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all clogs removed, you may be all set. Remember that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home comfortable.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Finch Air Conditioning & Heating is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
