Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are both going to paint two of their service vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

For the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be contributing 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help end breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every heating tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted a couple of their vans pink to raise money for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. General Manager David Schneider and one of his employees both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute said that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider explained. “While the amount of cases is actually going down each year, that still constitutes a huge number of families who are dealing with this disease, and there is still an urgent need for research and support.”

The General Manager of Service Experts of Raleigh, Chris Overton, echoed Schneider’s thoughts. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the most prominent type of cancer in the state – for women and men.”
